What was the last thing you did for play or fun?

Today was the start of my Christmas holiday so I decided to watch the Tyler Perry movie. I must admit I was looking forward to it because parts of it was filmed in Bradford Little Germany. I felt a degree of nostalgia as I remembered my childhood shopping in the town centre.

The cast was made up of beautiful, talented black women sharing an untold story of an all black female division of soldiers serving in WW2 in Europe.
The costumes, the make-up and cinematography were great. The women marching through the streets in Little Germany. Bradford was a powerful statement.
The film attempted to explore the misogyny and the racism the women endured; at times it was successful and very moving.
At times the story failed through a weak script and stereotypes especially the opening scenes.
Tyler Perry has stepped up his game by making this film as it shows he can diversify from his usual films with worthless black men and domestic violence.
