Ankara Accessories Part 1
Lockdown has made me build on a hobby I started 4 years ago. It started when a friend has me to make accessories for a fashion show. I made earrings and headbands for the children. The show was a success everyone loved my designs but life got in the way.
Anyway when you have to stay in your house all day with all external forms of entertainment closed and the constant cleaning is neither stimulating or appealing; its time to take up those hobbies again.
Amazon has been a lifeline as the fear of shopping; standing in queues and coming into contact with anyone who might have ‘the covid’ (my daughter’s description). I started with earrings made from cardboard and fabric – they looked okay but very homemade.

Then I ordered unpainted wooden earrings from Amazon. I knew the shape would be consistent the holes were pre drilled and the hole look would be much tidier. The whole process was much quicker.

I still have to make some amendments swapping fabric glue for mod podge to get a smoother finish.
I moved onto bracelets initially i used rope and the effect was stunning.

Again Amazon came to my rescue and I found unpainted wooden bracelets this made the process much quicker and the bracelet looked more professional.

My daughter has a large collection of bows so I decided to make some which are bolder and more colourful.

The journey continues I’m working on bags.
