What are your favorite sports to watch and play?
I really enjoy watching athletics. I have always wanted to see live athletics, but I was never organised enough to get tickets. The 2022 Commonwealth Games offered an opportunity to see world-class athletics in Birmingham for a reasonable price.
My daughter has always been great at athletics, and this was a great opportunity for her to see athletes at their peak.
Our seats were so far from the track, but we could see everything going on: hammer, shot put, and Javelin were the closest to us. All these events were very exciting but the track was what we came for and it met all our expectations. The drama and tension of the men and women’s 100m relays.
My daughter has now joined an athletics club, and she has taken part in competitions. She has learnt so much about herself. She has learnt to push herself to improve her personal best from competition to competition.
I wanted to go to the Olympics in Paris, but I gasped at the price of the tickets. Looks like we’ll be back to watching it whilst sitting on the sofa.
