What makes you feel nostalgic?
This time of year was always spent in Bradford whilst my parents were alive. The evening would start with television shows that recap on the whole year. Usually bad news, war, famine, floods etc.

Close to midnight, my sister and I would prepare the best wine glasses in preparation for the toast. The children would want to be involved, so it was a challenge transporting the tray from the kitchen to the living room.
At midnight, we would set off the party poppers and wish each other a Happy New Year.

My parents taught us to give thanks to God for taking us through another year. I would love to be able to toast in the new year with them. I suppose they’re with us every time we celebrate.
